Vietnam Top Gear tour day 5/6 - Phong Nha to Thai Hoa
Today was our biggest riding day of the tour so, after a good rest we were off nice and early.
Before we headed off I made sure to visit the morning produce markets - they're always amazing to see and locals are totally not expecting some random old white guy to show up. They're always happy and friendly and quick with a smile even though they're not exactly sure what I'm doing. The sights, sounds and smells are an assault on the senses and a great wake up early in the morning.
On the way to Thai Hoa, riding through more lush forest and mlountains, we stopped at a rubber plantation, a tea plantation and even a brick making "factory" - theres so much to see and explore in Vietnam.
After a long and tiring ride, we were all exhausted when we got to the hotel so it was a quick wander around, a delicious banh mi and off to find a "night cap" - strangely, at a Beer Hall in Vietnam they have no idea what a bourbon and coke is. I'm not exactly sure what I ended up drinking but it was delicious.
In the morning I found another fresh produce market so checked it out as well - its well worth getting up early, just to experience the real people and experiences.
